Poster Session

Eligibility
- General Poster Presentation is non-competitive and open to all users (with valid user cards).
- Poster Competition and Oral Presentation Competition are open to users who are students, research assistants, or post-doctoral researchers.
- All presentations in the Poster Session are required to present posters containing research results obtained using NSRRC experimental facilities.
Categories
- Participants must select one of the following categories:
  1. Biological Science
  2. Materials Science
  3. Physical/Chemical Science
- For the Oral Presentation Competition, each category is further divided based on the entrant’s status as either a "Young Scholar” (for those who hold a PhD)" or a "Rising Star” (for those who do not hold a PhD).
How to submit an abstract?
- Due to limited space, the Poster Session is exclusively available to online registrants and is not open to on-site registrants.
- Abstract submission
  1. Please log in your user account, and complete the conference participation section first, The abstract submission buttons will become available immediately afterward.
  2. Poster Presentation and Poster Competition: When registering online, please submit a one-page English abstract (PDF file).
  3. Oral Presentation Competition: When registering online, please submit both a one-page and a two-page English abstract (PDF file), and select your preference of becoming general poster presentation (non-competitive) or becoming an entrant of Poster Competition in case not entering the final. If you were an award recipient in previous years’ Oral Presentation Competition, an explanation of the differences between the current work and the winning work from previous years is required in the online registration form.
  4. After submission, a confirmation email will be sent to your email address within 10 minutes. Submission is considered successful only upon receipt of this email.
  5. The registration fee must be paid within the early-bird deadline for the registration to be completed.
- For the competition, each eligible registrant may only select to become an entrant for either the Poster Competition or the Oral Presentation Competition.
- After submitting abstract online, you may modify or withdraw it directly on the registration website before the deadline. If cancellation is required after the deadline, please inform us by email.
- The registrant who submits the abstract will be the presenter for the competition and cannot be replaced.
- Registration fee: $1,000, which must be paid by the early bird deadline. The advisor provided on the registration form is also eligible for the early bird registration fee of $1,000. Failure to pay by the early bird deadline will result in the cancellation of abstract submissions for the Poster Session.
Registration deadline: June 29, 2026. However, submission will close prior to the deadline if the maximum of 250 abstracts is reached.
Competition evaluation criteria
- Poster Competition
  1. The panel of judges for each category will evaluate entries at the designated poster area during the Poster Rating on August 26. All entrants are required to remain by their posters throughout this session. On-site presentations are mandatory for all poster competition entrants and are limited to a maximum of 3 minutes.
  2. Evaluation criteria: on-site presentation 60% and poster content 40%.
- Oral Presentation Competition:
  1. First round: After the abstract submission closed, the panel of judges will review the submitted abstracts and select entrants to proceed to the final round. The list of finalists is scheduled to be announced on July 24. Entrants not selected as finalists will be reassigned, based on their preference indicated at submission, either to the non-competitive Poster Presentation or to the Poster Competition.
  2. Oral Presentation: The finalists are required to email their presentation files (in English) to user@nsrrc.org.tw no later than August 21. The oral presentations will take place in the afternoon of August 25, ten minutes each, in English.
  3. Evaluation criteria: oral presentation 70% and poster content 30%. The criteria differ based on the status of "Young Scholars" and "Rising Stars."
  4. Poster display is required, but participation in on-site poster explanation during the poster session is optional for oral presentation finalists.
Poster size: 90 cm (width) × 120 cm (height). All presenters must print and bring their own poster.
All posters will be assigned a poster number and should be set up between 8:30 and 13:30 on August 25.
All posters should be removed starting from 14:00 on August 26. Please do not remove the posters before this assigned time. Any posters remaining on the display boards after the meeting will be abandoned.
Awards and Prizes
- Poster Competition
  1. Awards of Excellence (several winners): a prize of TWD 3,000 and a certificate for each winner.
  2. Awards of Recognition (several winners): a prize of TWD 1,500 and a certificate for each winner.
- Oral Presentation Competition
  1. The Glory of Taiwan (1-2 winners per category): a prize of TWD 10,000 and a certificate for each winner.
  2. Awards of Recognition (several winners): a prize of TWD 4,000 and a certificate for each winner.
- Results of the oral presentation competition will be notified by email on the morning of August 26, and poster competition results in the afternoon of the same day following the session. Notification emails will be sent to winners only. The list of winners will be announced on the meeting website after the event.
- Winners will be announced and certificates presented at the banquet on August 26. Prizes will be transferred to the winners’ bank account, which winners must provide within a month (by September 30) to finalize the prize claiming process. Failure to provide the required information by the deadline will result in automatic forfeiture of the prize.
